Remodeled Homepage Reflects Commitment to Improvement
By Janet Johnson
Informational Representative, Office of Accountability
November 10, 2000

The goal was to modernize the site and make it more graphically appealing. The result was an improved, more user-friendly web design launched November 10, 2000 for the Office of Accountability and Education Oversight Board.

New features include this Latest News section which will be revised periodically with updates on items such as legislation effecting education in Oklahoma, board meeting dates, and the status of the Oklahoma Educational Indicators Program publications. An exhaustive list of educational reference Links has been added, as well as a Frequently Asked Questions section and Questions You Should Ask, which is meant to help citizens and parents understand how they can use the reports to get involved in the local public education system.

Visitors can continue to view and print the Profiles: State Report, Profiles: District Report and School Report Cards in Adobe (PDF) format by selecting the preferred area from a list or map of Oklahoma counties. Drop-down menus on the homepage and banner have been added to make accessing the desired level of documents quicker.

The Office of Accountability is committed to the improvement of Oklahoma’s public education system by furnishing reliable and valuable statistical information to educators, lawmakers, researchers, and the public. We want this website to contribute to our pledge of quality and welcome your comments and suggestions. Please send all inquiries to wwwmaster@ed-stats.state.ok.us.
